All of this is part of the Archdiocesan Eucharistic Renewal and all parishioners, former parishioners, and friends of the parish are invited to participate in this special event. Following the event, there will be a reception in the parish center for all participants. At the conclusion of the procession, everyone will return to the altar in church for final Benediction. The procession will stop at three stations outdoors, where there will be a Gospel reading, homily, and hymn, each time. At 1 p.m., the procession will begin inside the church and proceed outdoors, consisting of Father Robert McDermott carrying the Blessed Sacrament, followed by various groups of parishioners. The evening will address how an innocent Black man, who was wrongly convicted by a white jury and imprisoned for 42 years, still managed to keep his faith. There will be coffee and snacks in addition to the opportunity to share conversation, experiences and faith. This event is open to all makes, models and faiths. “Cars, Coffee and Christ” combines these activities with Christian fellowship.
